Hyperspeed
''Hyperspeed'' is a space combat role-playing video game developed by MicroProse Software in 1991 for DOS, and is a sequel to '' Lightspeed''. Plot ''Hyperspeed'' is a game in which the player must discover a home for the relocation of humankind after the humans have made Earth practically uninhabitable. The player pilots a starship with a variety of weapons and encounters both friendly alien races, and hostile aliens that the player must either or broker peace treaties to allow the settlement of new worlds. The game allows the player to explore four different star clusters, each one with its own difficulty level. Gameplay Spaceflight is similar in style to the ''Wing Commander'' or ''X-Wing'' titles. Most races initially adopt a neutral stance towards the player, unless they ambush the player in between star systems. ''Lightspeed'' is a video game developed and released by MicroProse in 1990. It features a space flight simulator game and action game elements with an emphasis on strategy and exploration. Andy Hollis is an American video game designer, programmer and producer, mainly known for his flight simulators. He was one of the founding members of MicroProse. Carl Sanford Joslyn "Sandy" Petersen (born September 16, 1955) is an American game designer.
