Daily Jang
The ''Daily Jang'' () is an Urdu language newspaper headquartered in Karachi, Pakistan. It is considered one of Pakistan's newspaper of record and a leading newspaper of Pakistan. History It is the oldest newspaper of Pakistan in continuous publication since its foundation in 1939 from Delhi, British India, first published in 1941 during World War II, hence the name (Jang) translating to "war" in Urdu. After the independence of Pakistan in 1947, then young Mir Khalil-ur-Rahman became one of the pioneering publishers in Karachi, Pakistan. Nazir Naji .Nazir Naji (; 1942/1943 – 21 February 2024) was a Pakistani journalist and Urdu columnist. He served for 27 years as a senior Urdu columnist for ''Daily Jang''. Life and career Nazir Naji was born in 1942 or 1943. He was the chairman of the Pakistan Academy of Letters. In 2012, Naji left Jang Group and joined ''Daily Dunya'' as a Group Editor. He was honoured with the Hilal-i-Imtiaz for his services in journalism. Naji died in Lahore on 21 February 2020, at the age of 78. Ata ul Haq Qasmi ( Punjabi, ) is a Pakistani Urdu-language newspaper columnist, playwright and poet. He has written around twenty books and many articles on different subjects for the leading newspapers of Pakistan. His books have been translated into four languages.
