History

The channel replaces Cine5's now-defunct frequencies, and it was originally established by the Turkish businessmen Erol Aksoy and Haldun Simavi, and originally launched on March 1, 1991, when it commenced its test transmissions. A year later, the channel moved its headquarters to Istanbul, Turkey, and were at the same time starting its official broadcasts.
