and his collaborators found that the genus ''Mirafra'' contained deep internal genetic divergences. They therefore split ''Mirafra'' into four genera, each corresponding to a major clade. Species were moved to '' Plocealauda'', '' Amirafra'' and '' Corypha'' leaving only seven species remaining in ''Mirafra''.
