Gunaji was born on 23 July 1961 in Bombay (present-day Mumbai), Maharashtra. Gunaji initially began acting in the 1993 film ''Papeeha'' and first gained widespread notice in the 1996's '' Fareb'' in the role of Inspector Indrajeet Saxena. The role earned him a
