Kasun started playing basketball at a local club in

. The following day, he was discharged and cleared to travel back to Barcelona, where he was again admitted to a hospital for more tests. Within days, he was scheduled for a surgery. Following a 9-hour surgery and several weeks of recovery, Kasun resumed his professional basketball pursuits.
