Croatian Basketball Federation
The Croatian Basketball Federation ( hr, Hrvatski košarkaški savez) is a non-profit organization and the national sports governing body of basketball in Croatia. It was founded on 19 December 1948 as a member of the larger Basketball Federation of Yugoslavia. On 19 January 1992, the HKS joined the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). Croatia competes in the European region of FIBA. The Federation runs the men's national team and the women's national team. Basketball
Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. A field goal is worth two points, unless made from behind the three-point line, when it is worth three. After a foul, timed play stops and the player fouled or designated to shoot a technical foul is given one, two or three one-point free throws. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins, but if regulation play expires with the score tied, an additional period of play (overtime) is mandated. ABA League Second Division
The ABA League Second Division, also ABA League 2, is the 2nd-tier men's basketball division of the ABA League system. It is run by the ABA League JTD. It is a regional competition between men's professional clubs from six countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia. 2018–19 Premijer Liga
The 2018–19 HT Premijer liga was the 28th season of the HT Premijer liga, the highest professional basketball league in Croatia. It started on October 6, 2018 and finished on May 30, 2019. Format As in the previous season, all participants in Premijer liga including teams that play ABA League joined the regular season. It was played with a double round-robin format where the eight first qualified teams joined the playoffs, while the penultimate will be play relegation playoffs and last qualified one was relegated. Košarkaški klub Cibona, commonly referred to as Cibona Zagreb or simply Cibona, is a men's professional basketball club based in Zagreb, Croatia. The club is a founding member and shareholder of the Adriatic Basketball Association, and competes in the Adriatic League and the Croatian League. The 2018–19 BTravel WABA League was the 18th season of the Adriatic League. Competition included eight teams from six countries. In this season participating clubs from Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria and Slovenia. WBC Beroe
The women's basketball team of Beroe is headquartered Stara Zagora in Bulgaria. The team was established in the 1980s. From 1995 - 2004 year the team was eliminated from professional basketball and instead won the Bulgarian Women's Championship. Format changes On March 13, 2018, the Adriatic League Assembly decided to abolish the National standings and, as of the 2018–19 season, participants are determined only based on the results in the competitions under the umbrella of the Adriatic League ( First Division and Second Division). According to that, the promotion to the First Division is possible only from the Second Division. The last placed of the 2017–18 First Division season lose the right to participate in the 2018–19 season and its place is given to the 2017–18 Champion of the Second Division. KK Primorska
Košarkarski klub Koper Primorska ( en, Koper Primorska Basketball Club), commonly referred to as KK Koper Primorska, was a men's professional basketball club based in Koper, Slovenia. The club was formed by the merger of KOŠ Koper and KK Lastovka in 2016, and was disbanded in 2020 due to financial problems. Primorska became the Slovenian champions in 2019, and also won the Slovenian Cup three times in a row between 2018 and 2020.
