Career

Mainero joined Instituto's academy in 2002. He was moved into their first-team for the 2014 Primera B Nacional campaign. He made his professional debut on 5 November 2014 during a win over Boca Unidos, which was the first of thirty-two appearances in his opening three seasons. In his fourth, he netted four goals throughout the year; notably the first against Villa Dálmine in April 2017. In January 2018, Mainero completed a transfer to
