Physically, ''C. chalupae'' resembles ''
Cosmopterix trifasciella'', but differ in the coloration of the antennae. Additionally, ''C. chalupae'' possesses a collection of pale yellow spots on the abdomen, further distinguishing it from other species in the genus.
