Donaufestival
Donaufestival is an annual festival of music, performance, art, film and discourse that takes place each April/May in the Austrian state of Lower Austria. In the festival's early years, two cities were used as locations: Krems and Korneuburg. Since 2007, however, the festival has only been held in Krems. Krems an der Donau (, ) is a city in Lower Austria, Austria. With a population of 24,821, it is the 20th-largest city of Austria and fifth-largest of Lower Austria. It is approximately west of Vienna. Krems is a city with its own statute (or ''Statutory city (Austria), Statutarstadt''), and therefore it is both a municipality and a district. The Dresden Dolls
The Dresden Dolls is an American musical duo from Boston, Massachusetts. Formed in 2000, the group consists of Amanda Palmer (lead vocals and piano; additional: keyboards, harmonica, ukulele) and Brian Viglione (drums and backing vocals; additional: guitar, bass guitar). The two describe their style as " Brechtian punk cabaret", a phrase invented by Palmer because she was "terrified" that the press would invent a name that "would involve the word '' gothic''". The Dresden Dolls aesthetic exemplifies dark cabaret. Career Band formation and name The duo formed a week after Brian Viglione witnessed Amanda Palmer perform solo at a Halloween party in 2000. Matthew Herbert (born in 1972), also known as Herbert, Doctor Rockit, Radio Boy, Mr. Vertigo, Transformer, Wishmountain, and DJ Empty, is a British electronic musician. He often takes sounds from everyday items to produce electronic music. Career Matthew Herbert released his first album, ''100 Lbs'', in 1996, which “gathers early 12″s from a time when Herbert was very much a ‘dance music’ producer”. Vladislav Delay is the most frequently used pseudonym of Sasu Ripatti (born 1976), a Finnish electronic musician. He has also recorded as Luomo, Sistol, Uusitalo, Conoco, and Ripatti, working in styles such as minimal techno, glitch, and house.
