The Hellenic Basketball Federation (abbreviated HBF; , abbreviated as Ε.Ο.Κ.,) is the main basketball governing body basketball in Greece, for the sport in Greece. It directs and oversees all of the national sports team, national basketball teams of Greece, including both the junior and senior national teams, of both men and women. From 1969 to 1992, the E.O.K. also solely oversaw the Greek basketball league system, top-tier level men's Greek Basket League, Greek National Basketball League, before its basic operation was taken over by HEBA, starting with the 1992–93 basketball season. Basketball in Greece erupted with the win of the Greece men's national basketball team at the 1987 EuroBasket in Athens, which caused a general basketball euphoria in the country. Since then, the Greece men's national teams have achieved consistent international success, leading Greece to join Russia men's national basketball team, Russia, Serbia men's national basketball team, Serbia, Croatia men's national basketball team, Croatia, Italy men's national basketball team, Italy, Spain men's national basketball team, Spain, France men's national basketball team, France, and Lithuania men's national basketball team, Lithuania in the circle of European basketball powers.
