''Case Closed: Black Iron Submarine'', known as in Japan, is a 2023 Japanese animated mystery film directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa. It is the twenty-sixth installment of the ''Case Closed'' film series based on the manga series of the same name by Gosho Aoyama, following the 2022 film '' The Bride of Halloween''. The film was released in Japan on April 14, 2023. This film marks Miyuki Ichijo's final performance as Jodie Starling, before she died of multiple organ failure on October 24, 2023. Plot In Frankfurt, a Europol agent is being chased by Black Organization members Kir and Gin. Gin eventually murdered the agent. Yuzuru Tachikawa
is a Japanese anime director. Starting his career at Madhouse, he is known for directing the anime series '' Death Parade'', ''Mob Psycho 100'', and '' Deca-Dence''. Biography Tachikawa was born in Iruma District, Saitama on December 2, 1981. He graduated from the , and later joined Madhouse as an animation director. In 2007, Tachikawa made his directorial debut with the final episode of the anime series '' Kiba''. He later became a freelancer. In 2012, he directed the original video animation '' Arata-naru Sekai''. The following year, Tachikawa worked with Madhouse on the anime film ''Death Billiards'' as part of the Anime Mirai program. Yugo Kanno
is a Japanese composer and musician known for his work on many television dramas, anime series, and movies. Biography Kanno was born in Saitama, Japan. He attended junior high school in Kawagoe before later moving to Takanezawa for university. While attending school, he was fascinated by Impressionist Music. He graduated from the Tokyo College of Music, department of composition, film scoring course and started providing music for movies, commercials, and artists while he was still a student. , known professionally as , was a Japanese voice actress and singer. Born in Mizusawa, Iwate, she decided to become a singer and underwent training at , and she became part of the cast of the music variety show in 1970.
