Battle Through Time
''Battle Through Time'' is a computer game for the Commodore 64 computer, programmed by Ken Grant. This video game is a side-scrolling ground-based shoot 'em up game drawing obvious influence from the arcade game ''Moon Patrol''. Gameplay The basic gameplay is similar to ''Moon Patrol'', in that the player has to drive a jeep through rough landscape and jump over potholes and obstacles, and shoot at enemies both on the ground and in the sky. The player has to travel ten miles in each level before they can progress to the next one. ''Battle Through Time'' is themed after the most famous wars in the 20th century. ''Samurai Jack'' is an American animated action-adventure television series created by Genndy Tartakovsky for Cartoon Network and distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Television. Tartakovsky conceived ''Samurai Jack'' after finishing his work on his first Cartoon Network original series, ''Dexter's Laboratory'', which premiered in 1996. ''Samurai Jack'' was inspired by ''Kung Fu'', the 1972 televised drama starring David Carradine, and Tartakovsky's fascination with samurai culture. In video games, a boss is a significant computer-controlled opponent. A fight with a boss character is commonly referred to as a boss battle or boss fight. Bosses are generally far stronger than other opponents the player has faced up to that point. Boss battles are generally seen at climax points of particular sections of games, such as at the end of a level or stage or guarding a specific objective. A miniboss is a boss weaker or less significant than the main boss in the same area or level, though usually more powerful than the standard opponents and often fought alongside them. An action game is a video game genre that emphasizes physical challenges, including hand–eye coordination and reaction-time. Argus Press was a British publishing company. It was acquired by British Electric Traction (BET) in 1966, and became the publishing arm of that company. It was the subject of one of the most hotly contested management buyouts of the 1980s when a management team led by Kimble Earl, George Fowkes, and Scott Smith secured financing of £207m from forty national and international banks to acquire the UK and US businesses from BET. The acquisition was of particular note as the publisher Robert Maxwell was among the rival bidders, and widely considered as capable of out-witting the management team. Only an eleventh-hour intervention by Earl – exposing members of Maxwell's secret consortium as rival newspaper publishers which meant Maxwell would fall foul of the Monopolies Commission – brought success for the management team. ''Big K'' was a short-lived multi format magazine published by IPC Magazines Ltd during the 1980s. The design of the magazine was very similar in style to their comic strip publications at the time, '' 2000ad'' and ''Roy of the Rovers'' and seemed to be aimed squarely at the younger computer user. Johann Baptist Strauss II (25 October 1825 – 3 June 1899), also known as Johann Strauss Jr., the Younger or the Son (german: links=no, Sohn), was an Austrian composer of light music, particularly dance music and operettas.
