Zou Ye
Zou Ye ( born 20 October 1957 in Henan province, China), is a Chinese modern classical and film music composer. Zou was from the first generation of musical composition graduates from the Wuhan Conservatory of Music (then named the Hubei Academy of Fine Arts), when such education resumed with the end of the Cultural Revolution. Subsequently, Zou became the resident composer at the Wuhan Dance Theatre. During his ten-year residency (1982-1992), he completed a large number of orchestral works and, at the age of 26, Zou composed ''Zheng He'', a major opera based on the story of the ancient Chinese explorer with that name. In 1992, Zou started his residency at the National Children’s Theatre in Beijing, where he remains the sole composer to this day. Wuhan Conservatory Of Music
The Wuhan Conservatory of Music () is a provincial public college in Wuhan, Hubei, China. It is affiliated with the Province of Hubei and sponsored by the Hubei Provincial People's Government. In 1958, the school's predecessor, Hubei Arts College (湖北艺术学院), was formed through the merger of the Central–South Music Vocational School (中南音乐专科学校) and the Wuhan Art Teachers College (武汉艺术师范学院). The Cultural Revolution, formally known as the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution, was a Social movement, sociopolitical movement in the China, People's Republic of China (PRC). It was launched by Mao Zedong in 1966 and lasted until his death in 1976. ''The Knot'' ( zh, t=雲水謠) is a 2006 Chinese romantic drama film directed by Yin Li. It won the Best Film in the 2007 Golden Rooster Awards, and was named Outstanding Film by the 2008 Hundred Flowers Awards. The Golden Rooster Awards () are film awards given in mainland China. The awards were originally given annually, beginning in 1981. The name of the award came from the year of the Rooster in 1981. Award recipients receive a statuette in the shape of a golden rooster, and are selected by a jury of filmmakers, film experts, and film historians. The awards are the Chinese equivalent to the American Academy Awards. Originally, Golden Roosters were only available to mainland Chinese nominees, but in 2005, the awards opened up the acting categories to actors from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and elsewhere in an effort to compete with Taiwan's Golden Horse Awards. Yu Long (; born July 1, 1964) is a Chinese conductor. He is currently artistic director and chief conductor of the China Philharmonic and of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, music director of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, and principal guest conductor of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
