Zoran Alimpić
Zoran Alimpić ( sr-cyr, Зоран Алимпић; born 20 October 1965) is the former Chairman of the Assembly of the City of Belgrade. He was born in Pančevo. He has lived in Belgrade since 1968, where he finished primary school, secondary architectural-engineering school, and Faculty of Forestry at the University of Belgrade. After the Mayor of Belgrade, Nenad Bogdanović, died in September 2007, Zoran Alimpić served as the acting mayor until the election of Dragan Đilas. He was a councilor of the Municipal Assembly of Čukarica in three terms, from 1994 to 2004 and has been a councilor of the City of Belgrade Assembly since 1996. He was the Chairman of the Municipal Assembly of Čukarica in two terms – from 1997 to November 2004. Since July 2004 he has been a Member of the National Assembly of Serbia. Dragan Đilas
Dragan Đilas ( sr-cyr, Драган Ђилас, , born 22 February 1967) is a Serbian businessman and politician who served as the mayor of Belgrade from 2008 to 2013. From 25 November 2012 until 31 May 2014, he served as the President of the Democratic Party (DS), the nation's main opposition party. As a member of the Democratic Party, Đilas served as the mayor of the Serbian capital city between 2008 and 2013. He served as the Minister without Portfolio in charge of the National Investment Plan in the 2007–2008 Cabinet of Serbia and prior to that as the director of the People's Office of the President between 2004 and 2007. Čukarica
Čukarica ( sr-cyr, Чукарица, ) is a municipality of the city of Belgrade. Name Like several other neighborhoods of Belgrade, Čukarica was named after kafana. At the present location of the Sugar Refinery, there was a kafana in the second half of the 19th century. It was very popular as it was located at the point where two roads, one from Obrenovac and other from Šumadija, meet at the entrance to Belgrade. It was owned by Stojko Čukar and after him the kafana was named “Čukareva kafana” which later gave name to the settlement. History The village of Čukarica asked to be transferred to the Belgrade municipality in 1906, but the plea was rejected. Nenad Bogdanović
Nenad Bogdanović ( sr-cyr, Ненад Богдановић, ; 12 May 1954 – 27 September 2007) was a Serbian politician who served as the mayor of Belgrade from 2004 to 2007. Education and career Bogdanović was born on 12 May 1954. He completed his high school education at Matematička gimnazija (a school of Special National Interest) and then graduated from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Electrical Engineering, earning a Magister of Sciences in Electrical Engineering. The University of Belgrade ( sr, / ) is a public university in Serbia. It is the oldest and largest modern university in Serbia.
