Zolotonosha (, ) is a city located in Cherkasy Oblast (region) in central Ukraine. Located at around , the city serves as the administrative center of Zolotonosha Raion (district). It hosts the administration of Zolotonosha urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: Zolotonosha is located on the Zolotonoshka River, a tributary of the Dnipro River within of the oblast's administrative center, Cherkasy. The city is also located on the railroad line from Bakhmach to Odesa, and on the freeway from Kyiv to Kremenchuk and from Cherkasy to Shramkivka. Administrative status Until 18 July, 2020, Zolotonosha was designated as a city of oblast significance and belonged to Zolotonosha Municipality but not to the Zolotonosha Raion even though it was the center of the raion. Zolotonosha Raion is a raion (district) of Cherkasy Oblast, central Ukraine. Its administrative centre is located at the city of Zolotonosha. Population: On 18 July 2020, as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, the number of raions of Cherkasy Oblast was reduced to four, and the area of Zolotonosha Raion was significantly expanded. Two abolished raions, Chornobai and Drabiv Raions, as well as the city of Zolotonosha, which was previously incorporated as a city of oblast significance and did not belong to the raion, were merged into Zolotonosha Raion. Cherkasy Oblast (, ), also referred to as Cherkashchyna (, ) is an administrative divisions of Ukraine, oblast (province) in central Ukraine located along the Dnieper, Dnieper River. The Capital city, administrative center of the oblast is the city of Cherkasy. Zolotonosha Urban Hromada
Zolotonosha urban hromada is a hromada of Ukraine, in Zolotonosha Raion, Cherkasy Oblast. Its administrative center is the city of Zolotonosha. It was formed by the government of Ukraine on 12 June 2020. Its area is 465.5 km2, and its population is 35666 (as of 2020), 27664 of which lived in cities, and 8002 lived in rural areas. Current population is Until 18 July, 2020, the hromada belonged to Zolotonosha Municipality. As part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Cherkasy Oblast to four, the municipality was merged into the Zolotonosha Raion. Shramkivka
Shramkivka () is a village in Zolotonosha Raion of Cherkasy Oblast, Ukraine. Until 2017, it was an urban-type settlement. It hosts the administration of Shramkivka rural hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: History Modern Shramkivka was formed on the basis of four ancient Cossack villages (Khutor, khutors): Shramkivka, Polubotkivka, Shelykhovka and Ivanivka. According to one of versions here in 1660 at khutor Polubotivka was born Ukrainian hetman Pavlo Polubotok). Until 18 July 2020, Shramkivka belonged to Drabiv Raion. Poltava Governorate
Poltava Governorate was an administrative-territorial unit (''guberniya'') of the Russian Empire. Zolotonoshka River
The Zolotonoshka is a small river in south-central Ukraine. The Zolotonoshka is a left tributary of the Dnieper (Dnipro). The length of the river is 88 kilometers. The drainage basin is 1260 km2. The name is derived from a legend that Ukrainian cossacks were hiding gold (from Ukrainian: золото (zoloto - gold) in the river. A pogrom is a violent riot incited with the aim of Massacre, massacring or expelling an ethnic or religious group, particularly Jews.
