Zoe Wilkinson
Zoe Jones (formerly Wood and Wilkinson; born 14 January 1980) is a retired British figure skater. She is a two-time British national champion (2000, 2001) in ladies' singles. She reached the free skate at three ISU Championships and qualified for the 1998 Winter Olympics, but could not compete because of injury. As a pairs skater with Christopher Boyadji, she is a four-time national champion (2017–2020). Personal life Zoe Jones was born on 14 January 1980 in Swindon, England. She was raised in Freshbrook. She was previously married to Dody Wood and then Matthew Wilkinson. She is the mother of twin girls, Zarah and Zinia, born in 2007, and a boy, Zkai, born 2012. Figure Skating At The 1998 Winter Olympics
The figure skating events in 1998 Winter Olympics were held at the White Ring in Nagano. There were no changes in the format or scoring systems from 1994. Professionals were again allowed to compete, although they had to declare that intention and compete in ISU-approved events to do so. Previously, the ISU had been accused of rejecting Western professionals, while allowing Eastern Bloc state-sponsored "amateurs" to compete. Harry Mattick
Harry Mattick (born 20 December 1993) is an English figure skater. He is the 2017 Sofia Trophy champion, the 2020 Tayside Trophy bronze medalist, the 2012 British Figure Skating Championships, British national silver medalist, and a three-time British Figure Skating Championships, British national bronze medalist (2014, 2018, 2019). On the junior level, he is the 2011 Warsaw Cup champion, the 2010 MNNT Cup bronze medalist, and a four-time British Figure Skating Championships, British junior national champion (2008-2011). Lydia Smart
Lydia Smart (born 16 July 1998) is an English figure skater. With her skating partner Harry Mattick, she is the 2022 Britannia Cup champion, the 2023 British Championship silver medalist, and the 2022 British Championship bronze medalist. Career Women's singles Smart began learning to skate at the age of three with the goal of becoming an Olympic athlete. As well as skating lessons, she took on additional training including ballet, flexibility, and fitness. Smart competed in her first British Championship at the age of 12. She was selected in 2012 to be part of the British International Development Squad by the National Ice Skating Association (now British Ice Skating). In 2016, Smart was invited to train in Colorado Springs, Colorado in the United States. She trained overseas for a period of six months before returning to the United Kingdom. 2022 World Figure Skating Championships
The 2022 World Figure Skating Championships were held from March 21–27, 2022, at the Sud de France Arena in Montpellier, France. Sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU) and hosted this year by Skate Canada, the World Championships are considered the most prestigious event in figure skating, second only to the Olympics. Medals were awarded in men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. The competition determined the entry quotas for each skating federation at the 2023 World Championships. 2021–22 Figure Skating Season
The 2021–22 figure skating season began on July 1, 2021, and ended on June 30, 2022. During this season, elite skaters competed at the ISU Championship level at the 2022 European Championships, Four Continents Championships, World Junior Championships, and World Championships, as well as at the 2022 Winter Olympics. They also competed at elite events such as the Grand Prix and Junior Grand Prix series, and the ISU Challenger Series. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Grand Prix Final was cancelled, while parts of the Junior Grand Prix, Grand Prix, and Challenger Series were not held as scheduled. 2016 CS Ondrej Nepela Memorial
The 2016 CS Ondrej Nepela Memorial () was held on September and October 2016. It is an annual senior international figure skating competition held in Bratislava, Slovakia. It was part of the 2016–17 ISU Challenger Series. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The competition returned to the name ''Ondrej Nepela Memorial'' after three years as the ''Ondrej Nepela Trophy''. Pair Skating
Pair skating is a figure skating discipline defined by the International Skating Union (ISU) as "the skating of two persons in unison who perform their movements in such harmony with each other as to give the impression of genuine Pair Skating as compared with independent Single Skating".S&P/ID 2021, p. 109 The ISU also states that a pairs team consists of "one Woman and one Man". Adult Figure Skating
Adult figure skating is a term used by skating organizations to refer to tests and competitions for amateur ice skaters over 21. The category was originally aimed at skaters who had taken up the sport as adults, but more recently has expanded to include adult skaters performing and competing at an 'elite' level (Adult Masters), many of whom had skated competitively as children or adolescents. The 2001 World Figure Skating Championships were held at the GM Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada from March 17 to 25.
