Lydia Smart
Lydia Smart (born 16 July 1998) is an English figure skater. With her skating partner Harry Mattick, she is the 2022 Britannia Cup champion, the 2023 British Championship silver medalist, and the 2022 British Championship bronze medalist. Career Women's singles Smart began learning to skate at the age of three with the goal of becoming an Olympic athlete. As well as skating lessons, she took on additional training including ballet, flexibility, and fitness. Smart competed in her first British Championship at the age of 12. She was selected in 2012 to be part of the British International Development Squad by the National Ice Skating Association (now British Ice Skating). In 2016, Smart was invited to train in Colorado Springs, Colorado in the United States. She trained overseas for a period of six months before returning to the United Kingdom. Blackpool is a seaside resort in Lancashire, England. Located on the northwest coast of England, it is the main settlement within the borough also called Blackpool. Moonlight Sonata
The Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor, marked ''Quasi una fantasia'', Op. 27, No. 2, is a piano sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven. It was completed in 1801 and dedicated in 1802 to his pupil Countess Giulietta Guicciardi. The popular name ''Moonlight Sonata'' goes back to a critic's remark after Beethoven's death. The piece is one of Beethoven's most popular compositions for the piano, and it was a popular favourite even in his own day. Tayside Trophy
Tayside ( gd, Taobh Tatha) was one of the nine regions used for local government in Scotland from 15 May 1975 to 31 March 1996. The region was named for the River Tay. It was created by the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, following recommendations made by the 1969 Wheatley Report which attempted to replace the mishmash of counties, cities, burghs and districts, with a uniform two-tier system of regional and district councils. Ice Challenge
The Icechallenge (formerly known as the Leo-Scheu-Gedächtnislaufen or Leo Scheu Memorial) is an annual international figure skating competition organized by the Grazer Eislaufverein and sanctioned by the Austrian Figure Skating association and the International Skating Union. The event is usually held every autumn in Graz, Austria. Medals may be awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. In 2014 and 2015, the Ice Challenge's senior events were part of the ISU Challenger Series. In 2021, the Icechallenge returned to the ISU Challenger Series under the name Cup of Austria. International Challenge Cup
The International Challenge Cup (formerly the Ennia Challenge Cup and the Aegon Cup) is an annual figure skating competition generally held during the last week in February, up till the 2021 edition held in The Hague, Netherlands. Since the 2022 edition a three year contract has been signed with the city of Tilburg to host the event from the IJssportcentrum Tilburg with practice being organised on the neighbouring Ireen Wüst Ice Rink. Medals may be awarded in men's singles, women' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing on the senior, junior, novice, and pre-novice levels, such as "Debs". Nebelhorn Trophy
The Nebelhorn Trophy is an international senior-level figure skating competition organized by the Deutsche Eislauf-Union and held annually in Oberstdorf, Germany. It became part of the ISU Challenger Series in the 2014–15 season. The competition is named after the Nebelhorn, a nearby mountain. It is usually one of the first international senior competitions of the season. European Figure Skating Championships
The European Figure Skating Championships is an annual figure skating competition in which figure skaters compete for the title of European champion. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. The event is sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU) and is the sport's oldest competition.
