Zenopontonia Rex
''Zenopontonia rex'', the emperor shrimp or imperial shrimp, is a species of shrimp in the family Palaemonidae. It is found in shallow water in the tropical Indo-Pacific region. It lives in association with a sea cucumber, a nudibranch or other large mollusc, often changing its colour to match that of its host. Description ''Zenopontonia rex'' is a robust shrimp growing to a length of about , with females being rather larger and slightly less colourful. The antennae are modified into a series of plates that extend forwards from the head, and the rostrum has a crest-like extension. The cephalothorax bears a small spine on either side. The first two pairs of legs bear pincers with short sensory hairs. The basic colour of this shrimp is orange-yellow to orange-red, with purple antennal plates, claws and walking legs. However, during the day, white chromatophores in the skin expand and may cover much of the dorsal surface and tail fan; in other instances, the white colour appears as ...

Glossodoris Cincta
''Glossodoris cincta'' is a species of sea slug, a dorid nudibranch, a shell-less marine gastropod mollusk in the family Chromodorididae. This name has been extensively used for a group of similarly coloured species, some of which are un-named. Distribution This species was described from Ile Marianne, Fouquets Reef, Mauritius. This species has been reported in error widely in the Indo-Pacific region but these reports should be referred to '' Glossodoris acosti'' or undescribed ''Glossodoris'' species. The only reliable recent records are from Réunion.Bidgrain, P., 2019''Glossodoris cf. cincta''South-west Indian Ocean Sea Slugs, accessed 2019-01-26. Description ''Glossodoris cincta'' has a mantle which is tawny brown with blue-white dots and a dark blue margin to the mantle which is separated from the brown by a thin grey line. The rhinophores are dark brown with blue-white dots. The living holotype A holotype is a single physical example (or illustration) of an organi ...

Commensalism
Commensalism is a long-term biological interaction ( symbiosis) in which members of one species gain benefits while those of the other species neither benefit nor are harmed. This is in contrast with mutualism, in which both organisms benefit from each other; amensalism, where one is harmed while the other is unaffected; parasitism, where one is harmed and the other benefits, and parasitoidism, which is similar to parasitism but the parasitoid has a free-living state and instead of just harming its host, it eventually ends up killing it. The commensal (the species that benefits from the association) may obtain nutrients, shelter, support, or locomotion from the host species, which is substantially unaffected. The commensal relation is often between a larger host and a smaller commensal; the host organism is unmodified, whereas the commensal species may show great structural adaptation consistent with its habits, as in the remoras that ride attached to sharks and other fish ...

Hexabranchus
Hexabranchidae is a monotypic family (biology), family of colorful nudibranchs (often called "sea slugs") which contains only a single genus ''Hexabranchus'', with two species, and has no subfamilies. This family is one of the many families of dorid nudibranchs in the suborder Doridina, named after Doris (mythology), Doris, who was a sea nymph in ancient Greek mythology. The genus contains one of the largest known species of nudibranch in the world, ''Hexabranchus sanguineus, H. sanguineus'', which grows up to or exceeding 40 cm in length. This species is known to use chemical defenses derived from the sponge it eats and use the chemical compounds to defend itself from potential fish predators. Species There are two species within the genus ''Hexabranchus'':Valdés Á. (2002). "How many species of ''Hexabranchus'' (Opisthobranchia : Dorididae) are there?". Chromodoris
''Chromodoris'' is a genus of very colourful sea slugs or dorid nudibranchs, marine gastropod molluscs, and the type genus of the family Chromodorididae. Within the genus ''Chromodoris'', there are currently 101 classified species. Species within ''Chromodoris'' are commonly found in tropical and subtropical waters, living as members of reef communities and preying primarily on sponges. A molecular phylogeny of the family Chromodorididae resulted in this genus being restricted to a smaller number of species than formerly, most of which have longitudinal black lines on the mantle. Many former members of ''Chromodoris'' were transferred to Goniobranchus Anatomy ''Chromodoris'' species exhibit one of the two major body types found within Nudibranchia. There are a few major bodily features that separate chromodorids from other sea slugs. Mantle Dorids have a thick mantle that exists over their foot, and in some species, the mantle can have tubercles (nodules along the surface of ...

Synapta Maculata
''Synapta maculata'', the snake sea cucumber, is a species of sea cucumber in the family Synaptidae. It is found in shallow waters in the tropical Indo-Pacific Ocean. Sometimes growing as long as , it is one of the longest sea cucumbers in the world. Description ''S. maculata'' is a long, slender sea cucumber with fifteen tentacles, growing to a length of about . Although not the heaviest or bulkiest sea cucumber in the world, it is probably the longest, with individuals exceptionally reaching to over . Its colouring is variable, being some shade of yellowish-brown with wide longitudinal stripes and patches of darker colour. The spicules (microscopic calcareous spike-like structures that support the body wall) are large and shaped like anchors and are used in locomotion; they can be as long as 2 mm. The spicules are adhesive, and the sea cucumber is very difficult to detach from a wetsuit. Distribution and habitat The species is native to the tropical western Indo-Pacific re ...
