Sony/ATV
Sony Music Publishing (formerly Sony/ATV Music Publishing) is the largest music publisher in the world, with over five million songs owned or administered as of end March 2021. US-based, it is part of the Sony Music Group, which is itself owned by Sony Entertainment. The company was formed as Sony/ATV in 1995 by the merger of the original incarnation of Sony Music Publishing and ATV Music, which was owned by entertainer Michael Jackson. Jackson had purchased ATV Music, which included the Lennon–McCartney song catalog, in 1985. In 2012, an investor consortium led by Sony/ATV Music Publishing acquired EMI Music Publishing to become the largest music publishing administrator in the world, with a library of over three million songs. God (Australian Band)
God (also stylised as GOD) were an Australian punk rock band formed in 1986 by Sean Greenway on guitar and vocals; Tim Hemensley on bass guitar, drums and vocals; Joel Silbersher on guitar and vocals; and Matthew Whittle on bass guitar, drums and vocals. All four were 15-16 at the time. Their signature song, "My Pal", was released as their debut single in January 1988. Their sole studio album, ''For Lovers Only'', appeared in December 1989 after the group disbanded. Sean Greenway died of a heroin overdose on 21 January 2001, aged 30. Tim Hemensley also died of a heroin overdose, on 21 July 2003, aged 31. Whittle curated their 2× CD compilation album, ''GOD'', in February 2010. Witch Hats are a rock band based in Melbourne, Australia. History Formation & ''Wound of a Little Horse'' (2005 - 2007) The band was formed in late 2005 by guitarist and vocalist Kris Buscombe with drummer Duncan Blachford, who moved to Melbourne from Tasmania to start a band. Shortly after a self-titled demo CD was released, Buscombe recruited his younger brother Ash to play bass. By the time the group was prepared to release their first EP, ''Wound of a Little Horse'' produced by Phill Calvert ( The Birthday Party) on In-Fidelity Recordings in 2006, Tom Barry had also joined the line-up. Mark Steiner (musician)
Mark Steiner (born 1970) is a Norwegian-American rock musician, guitarist, songwriter and producer. In 1997, through a classified ad in ''The Village Voice'', Steiner started a band called Piker Ryan's Folly. It gave its last performance in 2000 at CBGB, at an event intended to save a neighboring tenement building, 295 Bowery, from demolition. Afterwards Eric Wolter and Steiner started a new band called Kundera. In 2002, Steiner moved to Oslo, Norway. In 2006, he contributed a track to a tribute CD for Australian musician Rowland S. Howard. In 2007 he recorded songs in Paris and New York for a debut solo CD ''Fallen Birds''. In 2009, a second record "Broken" was released in a two-CD edition by Z-Man Records. Golden Plains Festival
The Golden Plains Festival is held over three days during the Victorian Labour Day long-weekend on private farmland in Victoria, Australia. The nearest rural town is Meredith, which is between the regional cities of Geelong and Ballarat. The closest metropolitan city is Melbourne, 90 kilometres away. About the festival Golden Plains is an outdoor camping festival in Australian bushland. The farmland is nicknamed the ''Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre'' for the event; the natural amphitheatre itself is where the bands play. The surrounding areas – with names such as Spring Valley, North Pines, Mulwaverley, Tasmania, Kevin and West Kevin host bush camping. Most festival attendees sleep in tents or vans. The Meredith Music Festival (otherwise known simply as Meredith or MMF) is a three-day outdoor music festival held every December at the "Supernatural Amphitheatre", a natural amphitheatre located on private farmland near the town of Meredith in Victoria, Australia.
