Yuriy Rybchynskyi
Yuriy Yevhenovych Rybchynskyi (; born 22 May 1945) is a Ukrainian poet, songwriter and playwright who is a recipient of both the title Hero of Ukraine and People's Artist of Ukraine. He was among the pioneers of contemporary Music of Ukraine, Ukrainian pop music. Between 1998 and 2000, Rybchynskyi served as a cultural advisor to the President of Ukraine. Early life and education Born on 22 May 1945, in the neighbourhood of Podil in Kyiv, Rybchynskyi attended an art school and enjoyed drawing as a youngster. In addition, he participated in athletics, leaping with a pole for eleven years starting from 1958. In the 1960s, Rybchynskyi began to take a serious interest in poetry. During the Khrushchev Thaw, all forms of art, including literature, were actively developing and society was experiencing a spiritual uplift. Pavlo Mikolajovich Zibrov () is a Ukrainian pop singer (baritone), songwriter. People's Artist of Ukraine (1996). He became notable for his song ''Khreshchatyk'' co-written with Yuriy Rybchynskyi. Pavlo Zibrov was born on 21 June 1957 in a village of Chervone, Nemyriv Raion (now Haisyn Raion), Vinnytsia Oblast in a family of Russian Nikolai Ivanovich and Ukrainian Hanna Kyrilivna. His mother worked as a teacher, and his father was a master of all trades. After a couple of years at school, Pavlo moved with his family to Kyiv. He graduated from the Kyiv Lysenko special music boarding school which he started sometime in 1965, while his brother attended a military-music college in Moscow. Vasyl Ivanovych Zinkevych (; born 1 May 1945) is a Ukrainian singer, actor, dancer and costume designer. Alongside Nazariy Yaremchuk, Sofia Rotaru and Volodymyr Ivasyuk, Zinkevych was one of the faces of the Ukrainian roots revival music of the 1970s. Nazariy Nazarovych Yaremchuk () was a Hutsuls, Hutsul Ukrainians, Ukrainian singer, born in the village of Vyzhnytsia Raion, Rivnya, Chernivtsi Oblast. Nina Mytrofanivna Matviienko (; 10 October 1947 – 8 October 2023) was a Ukrainian singer, People's Artist of Ukraine. Life and career Matviienko was born on 10 October 1947 in village of Nedilyshche, Yemilchyne Raion, Zhytomyr Oblast at the time in the Ukrainian SSR in the Soviet Union (today Ukraine).
