Young Wonder
Young Wonder were an Irish electro-pop duo from Cork. Career Ian Ring is from Ballintemple and Rachel Koeman is from Watergrasshill, with a Dutch father. They met in 2012, and played at Castlepalooza in that year, and at the 2013 Latitude Festival. Their debut album, ''Birth'', was nominated for the Choice Music Prize; ''The Irish Times ''The Irish Times'' is an Irish daily broadsheet newspaper and online digital publication. Ballintemple, Cork
Ballintemple () is a suburb of Cork city, Ireland. The village is situated on the east side of the city with its limits extending to the River Lee and the village of Blackrock further to the east. Originally, Ballintemple was a separate village but today it has been enclosed by the city. History Temple Hill, Churchyard Lane, and Ballintemple itself derive their names from an ecclesiastical and burial site at the top of Temple Hill. While some historical texts suggest that this graveyard was sited at an early medieval church of the Knights Templar, this is not supported by other texts, and modern historians assert that this association is incorrect. Watergrasshill
Watergrasshill () is a village in north-east County Cork in Ireland to the north of Cork city. It is within the Cork North-Central Dáil constituency. Bypassed in 2003, the village is situated on the R639 road and accessible via junction 17 of the M8 motorway. It had a population of 1,840 at the 2022 census. History Evidence of ancient settlement in the area includes a number standing stones, fulacht fiadh, and ringfort sites in the surrounding townlands of Bishop's Island and Tinageragh. Castlepalooza
Castlepalooza was an annual Irish independent music & Arts Festival, held at Charleville Castle in Tullamore, County Offaly. The festival began in 2005 and was held annually until 2018. The 2006 festival was described by ''Hot Press'' as a "bite-sized Electric Picnic, held in the grounds of a 17th-century castle, with the added bonus of indoor toilets and showers". The festival was described by The Sunday Business Post as "The best little music festival in Ireland". In February 2019, the festival's promoters announced that Castlepalooza would be taking a break, would not be running that year and were looking to alter their format. The Choice Music Prize (), known for sponsorship reasons as the RTÉ Choice Music Prize is an annual music prize awarded to music from a band or solo musician who is born in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland or holds an Irish passport. For bands, the majority of members must have been born on the island of Ireland or hold an Irish passport. After being broadcast on Today FM for nearly eleven years, in November 2016, it was announced that the Choice Music Prize would broadcast on RTÉ 2fm starting in 2017. The ceremony is held in Vicar Street, Dublin. Since it first began in 2005, the main awards ceremony had been broadcast live on the Irish national radio station, Today FM, every March.
