Castlepalooza was an annual Irish independent music & Arts Festival, held at Charleville Castle in Tullamore, County Offaly. The festival began in 2005 and was held annually until 2019. The 2006 festival was described by ''Hot Press'' as a "bite-sized Electric Picnic, held in the grounds of a 17th-century castle, with the added bonus of indoor toilets and showers". The festival was described by The Sunday Business Post as "The best little music festival in Ireland". Background Castlepalooza first took place in 2005 created by Katie Vance – this resulted in Castlepalooza 2006. It is promoted by Cherrycool Promotions.The festival tends to focus on newer and more established Irish acts. Republic Of Loose
Republic of Loose were an Irish funk rock band from Dublin. Formed in 2001, the band formerly consisted of lead vocalist Mick Pyro, bass guitarist and vocalist Benjamin Loose, keyboardist Deco, guitarists and vocalists Dave Pyro and Brez and drummer and percussionist Coz Noelen. With a self-described musical style of "the stuff your dad likes", the band signed to Big Cat Records in 2003, recording their debut album '' This is the Tomb of the Juice'' which was released in 2004. They were named "Hope for 2004" at the 2004 Meteor Awards. In 2005, the singles "Comeback Girl" and "You Know It" received significant airplay on Irish radio. The Chapters
The Chapters are a six-nine piece band from Dublin, Ireland. The band are composed of Ross McNally, Michael Murphy, Ciaran Fortune, NC Lawlor, Aoife Ruth and Biggles Flys Again. Additional string, brass and guest players join the band on occasion. The Chapters have featured on a number of radio and television stations in Ireland, including Dublin's 98, Today FM RTÉ 2fm and Phantom FM since the release of their album and have performed at several festivals such as Castlepalooza, Indie-pendence and Oxegen. Neosupervital
Tim O'Donovan, better known by his stage name Neosupervital, is a multi-instrumentalist based in Dublin, Ireland. Previously Neosupervital live was a band affair. Previous band members included Dancin Vin, Jessie LoveAction and Miss K (Lauren). Jessie and Lauren went on to form the group Talulah Does The Hula. He was also Bell X1's tour drummer for a number of years. 2006 2006 saw Neosupervital being playlisted on MTV2 and playing festivals such as Oxegen, Castlepalooza and Electric Picnic. Charleville Castle
Charleville Castle is a Gothic-style castle located in County Offaly, Ireland, bordering the town of Tullamore, near the River Clodiagh. It is considered one of the finest of its type in the country. History The first mansion house to be built on the site of Charleville Castle was by Thomas Moore circa 1641. The estate passed through the hands of Charles Moore, Lord Tullamore, grandson of Thomas, and when he died in 1674 it went via his sister Jane to Charles William Bury. Charles William was later (1806) created the 1st Earl of Charleville in a second creation of the title. The new earl decided to build a new house on the estate. Commissioned in 1798, it was designed by Francis Johnston, and was built between 1800 and 1812. The castle was not continuously occupied, owing to the castle owners' lack of resources. The Flaws
The Flaws were an Irish indie-rock quartet, hailing from Carrickmacross in County Monaghan. The band released their self entitled debut EP in the Summer of 2005 which attracted a flurry of label attention and eventually culminated in the signing of a 5-album contract to Polydor UK/ Universal Music in December 2005. Sister Sledge is an American musical vocal group from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Formed in 1971, the group consisted of sisters Debbie, Joni, Kim, and Kathy Sledge. INDIEPENDENCE is a festival "weekender" which takes place on the outskirts of Mitchelstown in northern County Cork, typically on the August Bank Holiday weekend. The festival features a variety of artists as well as comedy, spoken word, a small cinema and other attractions. Mitchelstown () is a town in County Cork, Ireland with a population of approximately 3,740.
