Yoav Har-Even
Maj. Gen.(ret.) Yoav Har-Even is president and CEO of Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. Before joining Rafael in 2015, he served as head of the Israel Defense Forces Operations Directorate. Prior to that, he was commander of the 319th Division and head of the GOC Army Headquarters. Background Maj. Gen.(ret.) Har-Even has been president and CEO of Rafael since 2015. Avi Har-Even
Aby Har Even (Hebrew: אבי הר-אבן, March 7, 1937 – June 6, 2021) was an Israeli military scientist and the fifth Director General of the Israeli Space Agency (1995-2004). Har Even was instrumental to the Israeli space program, served pivotal roles in the Israel Aerospace Industries and was one of the founders of the IDF's missile and advanced weaponry programs. He was recipient of the Israel Defense Prize in 1977. He died 6 June 2021 at the age of 84 as a result of injuries during an arson attack, during Arab riots in Acre. Shaul Mofaz
Shaul Mofaz ( he, שאול מופז; 4 November 1948) is a retired Israeli military officer and politician. He joined the Israel Defense Forces in 1966 and served in the Paratroopers Brigade. He fought in the Six-Day War, Yom Kippur War, 1982 Lebanon War, and Operation Entebbe with the paratroopers and Sayeret Matkal, an elite special forces unit. In 1998 he became the IDF's sixteenth Chief of staff serving until 2002. He is of Iranian Jewish ancestry. After leaving the army, he entered politics. He was appointed Minister of Defense in 2002, holding the position until 2006 when he was elected to the Knesset on the Kadima list. 319th Division (IDF)
The Israel Defense Forces 146th Armor Division, also known as the Ha-Mapatz Formation ("Bang"), is a reserve-service armored infantry division in the IDF. It is subordinate to the Northern Regional Command. Formed in 1954, it fought in the Suez Crisis and Six-Day War as the 38th Division. In the latter conflict, the division was led by Major General Ariel Sharon. During the Yom Kippur War, the division fought in the battles of the northern Golan under Major General Moshe Peled. Major General
Major general (abbreviated MG, maj. gen. and similar) is a military rank used in many countries. It is derived from the older rank of sergeant major general. The disappearance of the "sergeant" in the title explains the apparent confusion of a lieutenant general outranking a major general, whereas a major outranks a lieutenant. In the Commonwealth and in the United States, when appointed to a field command, a major general is typically in command of a division consisting of around 6,000 to 25,000 troops (several regiments or brigades). It is a two-star rank that is subordinate to the rank of lieutenant general and senior to the rank of brigadier or brigadier general. In the Commonwealth, major general is equivalent to the navy rank of rear admiral. In air forces with a separate rank structure (Commonwealth), major general is equivalent to air vice-marshal.
