Yahouthengba Khoimu
''Yahouthengba Khoimu'' (English: ''Latecomer Bee'') is a 2025 Manipuri film directed by Rakesh Naorem. It is produced by Dr. R.K. Nayansana Devi under the banner of Ipak Films Production, Manipur and presented by Jaideep Memorial Foundation. Avi Khundrakpam, Ithoi Oinam and Ratana Kshetrimayum star as the leads. The film is inspired by Dr. R.K. Nayansana's short story ''Sanarik Pareng''. It was released at Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), Imphal on 9 January 2025. A Delhi premiere was also held at Muktadhara Auditorium on 13 January 2025. The movie was screened at the 2nd North East India Film Festival, Manipur 2025 in the ''NEIFF Spectrum'' strand. Khwairakpam Bishwamittra
Khwairakpam Bishwamittra is an Indian film director, actor and script writer who works in theatre and Manipuri films. He first appeared on silver screen in the 1996 hit film ''Kanaga Hinghouni'', where he co-directed with Chan Heisnam. Some of the famous films he directed include ''Kaorage'', ''Torei'' and ''Sur Da Ngaojabee''. He is also a renowned playwright of Manipuri Shumang Leelas and stage plays produced by AIR Imphal and Doordarshan DDK Imphal. Ithoi Oinam
Ithoi Oinam is an Indian film actress who appears in Manipuri films. She started her film acting career as a child artist right from her school days. Oinam Sanou, a celebrated filmmaker, was the man who groomed his daughter Ithoi to the film industry. Cinema Of Manipur
The Cinema of Manipur is the film industry based in Manipur, India. It includes not only Meitei language movies but all the films made in different languages of the different communities in Manipur. The Manipuri film industry was born when ''Matamgi Manipur'' was released on 9 April 1972. Before this, there were many attempts to make a film in the state, the most significant being ''Mainu Pemcha'' in 1948 which was left incomplete due to various problems. The tradition of documentary film making in Manipur was said to have been pioneered by the late Maharaj Kumar Priya Brata Singh who shot "actuality movies" with his 8 mm camera in 1936. 2nd North East India Film Festival, Manipur
The 2nd North East India Film Festival, Manipur took place from 12 to 16 February, 2025 at Imphal and Kakching, Manipur. The festival had screened 28 films from North East India. It was organised by THOUNA in association with Film Forum Manipur and Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Government of Manipur. A total of 15 feature and 13 non-feature films were screened at the festival. Prag Cine Awards are presented annually by Prag News & Rengoni, a satellite television channel from Assam.
