Xiu-Xiong Chen
Xiuxiong Chen () is a Chinese-American mathematician whose research concerns differential geometry and differential equations. Professor at Stony Brook University since 2010, he was elected a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society in 2015 and awarded the Oswald Veblen Prize in Geometry in 2019. In 2019, he was awarded the Simons Investigator award. Biography Chen was born in Qingtian County, Zhejiang, China. He entered the Department of Mathematics of the University of Science and Technology of China in 1982, and graduated in 1987. He subsequently studied under Peng Jiagui (彭家贵) at the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, where he earned his master's degree. In 1989, he moved to the United States to study at the University of Pennsylvania. Differential geometry is a Mathematics, mathematical discipline that studies the geometry of smooth shapes and smooth spaces, otherwise known as smooth manifolds. Gang Tian
Tian Gang (; born November 24, 1958) is a Chinese mathematician. He is a professor of mathematics at Peking University and Higgins Professor Emeritus at Princeton University. He is known for contributions to the mathematical fields of Kähler geometry, Gromov-Witten theory, and geometric analysis. As of 2020, he is the Vice Chairman of the China Democratic League and the President of the Chinese Mathematical Society. From 2017 to 2019 he served as the Vice President of Peking University. Shing-Tung Yau
Shing-Tung Yau (; ; born April 4, 1949) is a Chinese-American mathematician. He is the director of the Yau Mathematical Sciences Center at Tsinghua University and professor emeritus at Harvard University. Until 2022, Yau was the William Caspar Graustein Professor of Mathematics at Harvard, at which point he moved to Tsinghua. Yau was born in Shantou in 1949, moved to British Hong Kong at a young age, and then moved to the United States in 1969.
