Xavier Lust
Xavier Lust is a furniture designer and sculptor based in Brussels. He is best known for the unique technique of shaping metal that he uses to make furniture. The simple and original shapes created by folding and curving metal sheets without a mould have become his work signature. He has collaborated with several furniture manufacturers including MDF Italia, Driade, De Padova, CerrutiBaleri, Kristalia, Fiam and Extremis. He is the founder and principal of Xavier Lust design studio. Early life and education Lust was born on August 27, 1969 in Bruges and grew up in the Brussels Region. He studied interior design at Saint-Luc Institute, where he graduated in 1992. Career After graduating, Lust opened his own studio in Brussels. Over the next eight years, he also kept an atelier where he worked with steel, stainless steel and aluminum. Institut Saint-Luc
The Institut Saint-Luc () is an arts school in Brussels, Belgium. It consists of six departments, with a total of 2,200 students and 430 employees, spread over five locations in Ixelles and Saint-Gilles. History The school was founded by members of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, a French order created in 1680 by Jean-Baptiste de la Salle in France. Different Saint-Luc institutes were founded all over Belgium with the first in Ghent in 1863. The first school in Brussels was founded in 1882 in Molenbeek and then was later relocated to Schaerbeek in 1887. Work began in 1904 for a new institute in Saint-Gilles, then called the Institut Jean Béthune, and had only 14 students. Construction finished four years later in 1908. A Magritte Award (french: ) is an accolade presented by the Académie André Delvaux of Belgium to recognize cinematic achievement in the film industry. Business of Design Week (BODW) is an annual week-long design event organised every December by the Hong Kong Design Centre. BODW was launched in 2002.
