Xabib Yunich
Khabib Yunich ( zh, c=海比甫玉尼奇; tt-Cyrl, Юнич Хәбиб Фазылҗан улы, translit=Yüniç Xäbib Fazılcan ulı, ; ug, يۈنىچ خەبىب فازىلجانۇلى, in Uyghur; 1905–1945) was a politician, pedagogue and journalist in the Xinjiang province of Western China. He was an ethnic Tatar and a Muslim. After returning to China from Turkey, where he studied, he organized the first Uyghur language gazette in the Ili district of Xinjiang and was its editor from 1934 to 1944. He was also the first person to organize a public library in the city of Ghulja (Kuljia). In the 1940s, he taught at the Tatar school in Ghulja. Yüniç was one of the few leaders of a movement for Xinjiang's independence. He was also one of the composers of the Declaration of the People's Republic of East Turkistan, the first ethnic Uighur state, albeit one of the earliest satellite states of the USSR. Typhus
Typhus, also known as typhus fever, is a group of infectious diseases that include epidemic typhus, scrub typhus, and murine typhus. Common symptoms include fever, headache, and a rash. Typically these begin one to two weeks after exposure. The diseases are caused by specific types of bacterial infection. Second East Turkestan Republic
The East Turkestan Republic (ETR) was a short-lived satellite state of the Soviet Union in northwest Xinjiang (East Turkestan), between November 12, 1944, and December 22, 1949. To differentiate it from the First East Turkestan Republic (1933–1934) it is often described as the Second East Turkestan Republic, although the adjective Second was never an official part of its name. It began with the Ili Rebellion, in three districts: Ili, Tarbaghatai and Altai, in Xinjiang Province, which was part of the Republic of China. Initially it was backed by the USSR. During 1946, the ETR participated in the Xinjiang Provincial Coalition Government, while maintaining its independence. In February 1947, the officials of the ETR withdrew from the Coalition and re-asserted their independence, arguing that all of Xinjiang should be liberated from Chinese rule.
