XHSOL-FM
XHSOL-FM is a radio station in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. Broadcasting on 89.9 FM, XHSOL is owned by Grupo Audiorama and is known as Super with a pop format. History XHSOL's concession was awarded in 1983. The station, which otherwise would have had the call sign XHFE-FM, instead took on the XHSOL call sign as it signed on under the name ("Stereo Sun"). The station adopted the Ke Buena franchise format from Televisa Radio in 2004 before flipping to pop in 2006 as "89.9 Only Hits", later taking on the name "Máxima". Format changes occurred again in 2009, to La Invasora ( grupera) and Tu Recuerdo (oldies) in 2011. XEZF-AM
XEZF-AM is a radio station on 850 AM in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. It is owned by Grupo Audiorama and is known as Buenisiima with a grupera format. History XEZF received its first concession on November 27, 1963. It was owned by Miguel Vildosola Castro and sold by his successors to Silvia Lacarra Hinojosa in 1996. Hinojosa sold to Radiorama in 1998. In 2001, the station began broadcasting grupera music under the name Sonido Banda, switching to English-language classic hits as Éxtasis 850 in 2003. A year later, the format was changed to Caribbean music as La ZF, with a second name change to La Más Picuda in 2006. XHMMF-FM is a radio station on 92.3 FM in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. The station is owned by Grupo Audiorama Baja California and carries its La Bestia Grupera grupera format. History XHMMF received its first concession on February 11, 1980. The station had been proposed as early as 1964. XEQ-FM is a radio station in Mexico City. Broadcasting on 92.9 FM, XEQ-FM broadcasts grupera music under the name "La Ke Buena" and is the flagship of a network of stations with the same branding and format. The programming on XEQ-FM is also simulcast on Mexico City AM radio station 940 XEQ-AM. History The original concession for XEQ-FM was awarded on April 16, 1957 to Radio Mexicana del Centro, S.A. de C.V. In 1978, XEQ-FM became the first tropical music station in Mexico City under the name "Tropi Q"; others later followed. Grupera (also known as Grupero or Onda Grupera) is a genre of Regional Mexican music. It reached the height of its popularity in the 1990s, especially in rural areas. The music has roots in the rock groups of the 1960s, but today generally consists of four or more musicians using electric guitars, keyboards and drums.
