XHPX-FM
XHPX-FM (98.3 MHz) is a Spanish & English Top 40 (CHR) station in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico. It broadcasts from studios on Mesa Street in El Paso, Texas, United States and a transmitter atop Cerro Bola in Juárez. History XHPX received its concession on October 18, 1977, though it had been on the air for several years by that point and had changed frequencies from 93.7 MHz in 1974. The concession was held by Ángel Beltrán Elizarraraz, but the station was operated by MVS from the start, first with the Stereorey format (later moved to XHTO-FM) and later FM Globo format. In 2000, the station became one of the original Exa FM stations. Most operations moved to studios in El Paso in 2005. In 1993, it was sold to F.M. Globo de Juárez, S.A. de C.V., which in turn transferred the concession to Frecuencia Modulada de Mexicali in May 1999, MVS de Juárez in December 1999, and Stereorey México in 2012. A border blaster is a broadcast station that, though not licensed as an external service (broadcasting), external service, is, in practice, used to target another country. The term "border blaster" is of North American origin, and usually associated with Mexican AM band, AM stations whose broadcast areas cover large parts of the United States, and United States border AM stations covering large parts of Canada. XHTO-FM (104.3 FM "104.3 HITfm") is a radio station in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico. It broadcasts an English-language contemporary hit radio format for Ciudad Juárez and the nearby El Paso metropolitan area. It is owned by Grupo Audiorama Comunicaciones with studios in El Paso and a transmitter in Ciudad Juárez. History XHTO was originally owned by Joaquín Vargas Gómez, founder of MVS Radio. In 1977, the station was transferred to Frecuencia Modulada de Ciudad Juárez, S.A., which was later sold to Grupo Radiorama. Sometime in the 2000s, Grupo Radio México took control of XHTO-FM from Radiorama, which holds its concession.
