XEMMM-AM
XEMMM-AM is a radio station in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, broadcasting on 940 kHz. The station is owned by Radio Cañón and carries the W Radio news/talk format from Radiópolis. History XEWV-AM received its concession in March 1955. In 1974, Cadena Baja California (now Grupo Cadena) bought XEWV-AM. The call sign was changed to XEMMM-AM in 2003 after the Tijuana station that held those calls became XESPN-AM. The next year, CBC sold XEMMM to Organización Editorial Mexicana, which had also bought 820 AM at the same time. The station was known as Radio Mexicali before adopting an oldies format, known as 940 Oldies, in 2007. In 2021, NTR acquired the ABC Radio group from Organización Editorial Mexicana. On April 23, 2023, as part of a national alliance between the company and Radiópolis, 22 NTR-owned stations adopted franchise formats from Radiópolis. XESPN-AM
XESPN-AM 800 is a radio station that serves the Tijuana-San Diego area. It is operated by Esquina 32. It airs a Spanish-language adult hits music format known as Norte 800 AM. 800 AM is a Mexican clear-channel frequency on which XEROK-AM in Ciudad Juárez is the dominant Class A station. History The station came on air in April 1965 as XEMMM-AM, named for its owner, Mario Marcos Mayans. The Mayans family owned Cadena Baja California (CBC, later Grupo Cadena), which ran XEMMM from 1965 to 2022. The station initially broadcast during the daytime only. XEMMM joined ESPN Radio in late 2002, replacing XETRA, which had changed from sports radio to adult standards some months earlier. In 2003, the call sign changed to XESPN. XHABCA-FM
XHABCA-FM 101.3 is a radio station in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. It is owned by Grupo Radio Cañón and carries the La Ke Buena Regional Mexican format from Radiópolis. History XEABCA-AM began on 1590 kHz in 1984, when a concession was awarded for XEYX-AM, owned by Mario Ignacio Melendez Soto. Its first format was tropical music as "La Gigante". In 1997, the station was sold to MVS Radio and rechristened XEMVS-AM. The concessionaire name for this station, Stereorey Mexicali, was a nod to MVS's Stereorey format; stations owned by MVS Radio have the concessionaire Stereorey México, S.A. In the 1990s, the station also relocated from 1590 kHz to 820.
