Wört () is a municipality (German: '' Gemeinde'') and town in the district of Ostalbkreis in Baden-Württemberg in Germany. Geography Location Wört is located in the valley of the Rotach, a tributary of the Wörnitz River, in the Virngrund region. It is in the northeastern foothills of the Swabian Alb range, between Dinkelsbühl (6 km) and Ellwangen (13 km). Neighboring Towns The municipality is bordered to the north by Fichtenau, part of Schwäbisch Hall district, to the east by the Bavarian city of Dinkelsbühl, to the south by Stödtlen and to the west by Ellenberg. Hubert Wolf (born 26 November 1959 in Wört, Baden-Württemberg) is a German church historian and professor at the University of Münster. He was awarded a Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize in 2003. Dinkelsbühl () is a historic town in Central Franconia, a region of Germany that is now part of the state of Bavaria, in southern Germany. Dinkelsbühl is a former free imperial city of the Holy Roman Empire. In local government terms, Dinkelsbühl lies near the western edge of the (or local government district) of Ansbach, north of Aalen. Dinkelsbühl lies on the northern part of the Romantic Road, and is one of three particularly striking historic towns on the northern part of the route, the others being Rothenburg ob der Tauber and Nördlingen. Ellwangen an der Jagst, officially Ellwangen (Jagst), in common use simply Ellwangen () is a town in the district of Ostalbkreis in the east of Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany.
