Wonderland (event)
Wonderland is a club night concept created and developed by UK-based DJ Pete Tong. In 2007, Wonderland debuted at London's Ministry of Sound; it remained a resident party at the super club. In 2008, Wonderland was launched at Eden in Ibiza, where it spent three seasons. History In 2006, Pete Tong started to plan a new club night. He said, "I wanted to create a wondrous club environment filled with exquisite sights, sounds and energy, driven by the music but equally by the visual experience" The debut Wonderland party was held at London's Ministry of Sound on 3 February 2007, featuring Pete Tong, David Guetta and Paul Harris. Pete Tong
Peter Michael Tong (born 30 July 1960) is an English DJ who works for BBC Radio 1. He is the host of programmes such as '' Essential Mix'' and '' Essential Selection'' on the radio service, which can be heard through Internet radio streams, for his record label FFRR Records and for his own performances at nightclubs and music festivals. Tong has also worked as a record producer and is regarded as the "global ambassador for electronic music." The phrase "It's all gone Pete Tong", where the name is used as rhyming slang for "it's all gone wrong", was reputedly coined by Paul Oakenfold in late 1987 in an article about acid house called "Bermondsey Goes Balearic" for Terry Farley and Pete Heller's ''Boys Own'' fanzine. Norman Quentin Cook (born Quentin Leo Cook, 31 July 1963), also known as Fatboy Slim, is an English musician and DJ who helped popularise the big beat genre in the 1990s. His music makes extensive use of Sampling (music), samples from eclectic genres, combined with pop structures, processed rhythms and "sloganistic" vocals.
