Willebroek (, old spelling: ''Willebroeck'', also ) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises the towns of , Heindonk, , Klein Willebroek, and Willebroek proper. In 2021, Willebroek had a total population of 27,081. The total area is 27.41 km2. Willebroek is linked to Brussels by the Willebroek Canal. Willebroek is also home to the ''Kanaalfeesten'', a yearly festival that takes place throughout the town which includes live concerts (mostly of local bands) and general festival attractions, like a mini roller coaster, a duck shoot, etc. At Klein-Willebroek the Harmonium Art museuM on pump organs is established in the former Church of the Immaculate Conception. Brussels–Scheldt Maritime Canal
The Brussels–Scheldt Maritime Canal (; ), also known as the Willebroek Canal amongst other similar names, is an important canal in Belgium. The canal has a width of and a draught of , and connects Brussels with the Scheldt river at Wintam and ultimately the sea. The canal is one of the oldest navigable canals in Belgium and indeed in Europe. It was originally only long and joined the Rupel river in the hamlet of Klein-Willebroek. Heindonk
Heindonk is a Belgian village in the municipality of Willebroek in the province of Antwerp in Belgium. It is situated northwest of the city of Mechelen. History Historically the village was a part of the parish of Zemst. In 1603, it became part of Heffen. In 1803, the village became an independent municipality. In 1977, the municipality was merged into Willebroek. Overview In Heindonk is the Hazewinkel, a 2,000 m rowing and regatta course, where many World Championships Rowing took place. Apart from the Hazewinkel Heindonk is surrounded by water and nature. The rivers Zenne coming from Brussels, Dyle coming from Louvain, Nete coming from Lier and the channel Louvain-Dyle all come together north of Heindonk, forming the river Rupel. The Harmonium Art museuM (HAM) is a museum on pump organs in the province of Antwerp, Belgium. It is located at the former Church of the Immaculate Conception in Klein- Willebroek. The collection has been brought together by Ben Roemendael. In order to be able to show the organs to the public, he founded the museum. One can see free-reed and suction-reed organs. All instruments have been disassembled, cleaned and restored.
