Will McLean (March 23, 1957 – October 24, 2015) was an artist whose work has appeared in role-playing games. Career Will McLean created humorous artwork that was included in the original ''Dungeon Masters Guide'', as well as in comics in ''Dragon''. The inspiration for many of his cartoons came from his experiences in playing role-playing games. History The area was originally settled in the 17th century by Welsh immigrants who purchased land from William Penn. On the evening of September 20, 1777, near Malvern, General Charles Grey and nearly 5,000 British soldiers launched a surprise attack on a Patriot encampment, which became known as the Battle of Paoli. Having intercepted General Washington's orders to General Wayne regarding British rearguard actions, Grey directed his troops to assault the small regiment of Americans commanded by Anthony Wayne in an area near his residence. ''Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord'' is the first game in the ''Wizardry'' series of role-playing video games. It was developed by Andrew C. Greenberg and Robert Woodhead. In 1980, Norman Sirotek formed Sir-Tech Software and launched a beta version of the product at the 1980 Boston Computer Convention. The final version of the game was released in 1981. A 3D remake of the game was released by Digital Eclipse on 15 September 2023 onto PC via Steam platform The game was one of the first Dungeons & Dragons-style role-playing games to be written for computer play, and the first such game to offer color graphics.
