Wiener Werkstattpreis
The international Wiener Werkstattpreis is a literary award established in 1992 in Austria. Since 2000, the award has been given annually. The organizers hope to bring public attention to writers who are not well known. The grand prize is €1,100, with a second prize of €800 awarded by the audience. In 2007, authors could compete in three categories: short story, poetry and essay. Supported and partly financed by the Austrian government and the city administration of Vienna, the award is organized by the publisher FZA. Literary Award
A literary award or literary prize is an award presented in recognition of a particularly lauded literary piece or body of work. It is normally presented to an author. Klaus Ebner
Klaus Ebner (born 8 August 1964) is an Austrian writer, essayist, poet, and translator. Born and raised in Vienna, he began writing at an early age. He started submitting stories to magazines in the 1980s, and also published articles and books on software topics after 1989. Ebner's poetry is written in German and Catalan; he also translates French and Catalan literature into German. He is a member of several Austrian writers associations, including the Grazer Autorenversammlung. His works include cultural essays on Catalan topics, and stories dealing with Jewish traditions. His first collection of short stories was printed in 2007. In 2008, Ebner published the short novel '' Hominide''. He has received several literature awards, among them the Youth Prize ''Erster Österreichischer Jugendpreis'' in 1982, and the Viennese ''Wiener Werkstattpreis'' in 2007. Uljana Wolf is a German poet and translator (from English and Polish) known for exploring multilingualism in her work. Wolf works in both Berlin and New York. Franzobel
Franzobel is the pseudonym of the Austrian writer (Franz) Stefan Griebl. He was born on 1 March 1967 in Vöcklabruck. In 1997 he won the Wolfgang Weyrauch Prize and in 1998, the Kassel Literary Prize, amongst numerous other literary awards.
