William Whitmire (born August 24, 1948) is an American politician. He is a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from the 1st District, serving since 2003. He is a member of the Republican party. Early life and education Whitmire was born on August 24, 1948, to Ramsey and Marie Fagan Whitmire. Whitmire, South Carolina
Whitmire is a town in Newberry County, South Carolina, United States, along the Enoree River. The population was 1,441 at the 2010 census. The town was named for George Fredrick Whitmire, who came from Stuttgart, Germany. History The earliest settler in what is now Whitmire was John Duncan, who built a house along the creek that now bears his name. The George Frederick Whitmire family arrived prior to the 1790s (1790 Census) and established a tavern and post office. The arrival of the Georgia, Carolina and Northern Railway in 1890 led to the town's rapid growth. Whitmire Spring is a spring in Hidalgo County, New Mexico. Correctly named on the Playas Lake South U. S. topographic map, it is mistakenly called Whitmore Spring on the U.S. Geological Survey Geographic Names Information System. The spring was named after J. B. Steven Lawrence Whitmire (born September 24, 1959) is an American puppeteer, known primarily for his work on ''The Muppets'' and ''Sesame Street''. Beginning his involvement with the Muppets in 1978, Whitmire inherited the roles of Ernie and Kermit the Frog after Jim Henson's death in 1990; he performed the characters until 2014 and 2016, respectively. As part of the Muppet cast, he has appeared in multiple feature films and television series, performing a variety of characters on ''The Muppet Show'', ''Sesame Street'', and ''Fraggle Rock'' and during such occupations has been employed by The Jim Henson Company, Sesame Workshop, and The Muppets Studio. Stan Whitmire is a Christian pianist from Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Life and work Whitmire was born May 4, 1963, in Atlanta, Georgia and studied to learn to play the piano from the age of four. He graduated from The Westminster Schools and Georgia State University in Atlanta. He has been part of the music ministry, playing piano for worship services at Mount Paran Church of God in Atlanta since December 1978.
