Westley Allan Dodd
Westley Allan Dodd (July 3, 1961 – January 5, 1993) was an American convicted serial killer and sex offender who sexually assaulted and murdered three young boys in Vancouver, Washington, in 1989. He was arrested later that year after a failed attempt to abduct a six-year-old boy at a movie theatre in Camas, Washington. Dodd wrote detailed accounts of his murders in a diary that was found by police. After pleading guilty to charges of murder, he received the death penalty. After refusing an automatic appeal, he was executed by hanging on January 5, 1993, the first legal hanging in the United States since 1965. In response to the cases of Dodd and Earl Kenneth Shriner, the Washington State Legislature, authorized the indefinite civil commitment of a convict who has been deemed to be a "sexually violent predator." Westley Sissel Unseld Sr. (March 14, 1946June 2, 2020) was an American professional basketball player, coach and executive. He spent his entire National Basketball Association (NBA) career with the Baltimore/Capital/Washington Bullets. Unseld played college basketball for the Louisville Cardinals and was selected with the second overall pick by the Bullets in the 1968 NBA draft. Known as "The Incredible Hulk" and "The Oak Tree" because of his immense physical presence, Unseld was named the NBA Most Valuable Player and NBA Rookie of the Year during his rookie season and joined Wilt Chamberlain as the only two players in NBA history to accomplish the feat. He won an NBA championship with the Bullets in 1978 and the Finals MVP award to go with it. William Westley Guth (October 15, 1871 – April 19, 1929) was an American attorney, Methodist minister, and academic who served as the fourth president of Goucher College. Early life, family, and education Guth was born on October 15, 1871, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Rev. George Guth and Susan Sophie Grandlienard of Perrefitte, Switzerland. Guth was of German, French, and Swiss descent. When he was a teenager, his family moved to San Francisco, California. He enrolled at the University of the Pacific and continued his studies at the then-newly established Stanford University, from which he graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1892. William Westley Richards
William Westley Richards (24 November 1789 – 11 September 1865) was a British firearms manufacturer and founder of Westley Richards. Richards was born in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England to Theophilus Richards and Mary Bingham. He married his first wife, Ann Barlow in 1813. They had six children: Westley, Emma, Caroline, Edward Harding, Ellen, and Mary Anne. William and Ann divorced before 1823. He married his second wife, Harriett Seale (1793–1865) on 18 January 1823 at St Pancras Old Church, London. He had three children by his second marriage, Charles, George Seale, and William. David Westley (born 7 June 1974) is a former professional rugby league footballer and assistant coach of the Papua New Guinea . A Papua New Guinea international front-rower, he played club football for the Canberra Raiders, with whom he won the 1994 Winfield Cup Premiership before spending time with the Parramatta Eels and the Northern Eagles. Playing career Westley's junior club was the Cairns Kangaroos. He was Canberra's Rookie of the Year in 1993, and was a part of the Grand Final winning side in 1994 as they defeated Canterbury-Bankstown in the decider. Westley Waterless is a small village and civil parish in East Cambridgeshire, England, 5 miles south west of Newmarket. History The parish of Westley Waterless is long and thin covering 1150 acres between the ancient Icknield Way at its north west end (now the A1304), to the village of Burrough Green at the south east. It is wedged between the parishes of Burrough Green to the north and east (with the border following Westley Bottom Road), from which it was apparently carved, and Brinkley to the south. It has a short border with Bottisham at its north west tip. The site of the present village seems to have been occupied since the 10th century. A leaden vessel filled with tools dating from prior to the Norman Conquest has been found. Thirteen inhabitants were recorded at the time of the Domesday Book.
