Wasyl Ciapiński (; ; ) (1540s in Vitebsk Voivodeship – c. 1604) was a Lithuanian nobility, Belarusian-Lithuanian noble, humanist, educator, writer, publisher and translator from the Grand Duchy of Lithuania known for translating the Bible into the Belarusian language. Bill Wasyl Diachuk (October 8, 1929 – October 17, 2014) was a municipal and provincial politician from Alberta, Canada. He began his political career in Edmonton municipal politics serving two separate stints as a separate school trustee. The first was from 1962 to 1964 and the second from 1966 to 1971. He moved his political career to the provincial level where he served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta sitting with the governing Progressive Conservative caucus from 1971 to 1986. Political career Diachuk ran for election to the City of Edmonton Separate School Board. He won a seat in the 1962 Edmonton municipal election holding the third and final seat in plurality out of five candidates . He was defeated running for a second term in office in the 1964 Edmonton municipal election finishing eighth out of ten candidates. Wasyl Ihor Medwit, O.S.B.M. (; 23 July 1949 – 12 September 2024) was a Polish-born Ukrainian Greek Catholic hierarch, Titular Bishop of Hadriane since 30 March 1994. Before it, from 30 March 1994 until 30 September 1996 he served as an Auxiliary Bishop of Lviv, from 30 September 1996 until 8 November 2002 as Apostolic Visitor in Kazakhstan and the Middle Asia, from 20 September 1997 until 6 December 2004 as an Archiepiscopal Exarch of Kyiv-Vyshhorod, from 6 December 2004 until 17 March 2009 as a Curial Bishop of the Kyiv-Halych and from 17 March 2009 until 25 October 2013 as an Auxiliary Bishop of Donetsk-Kharkiv. Biography Medwit was born in the family of ethnic Ukrainian Greek-Catholics in Przemyśl, in post-war Poland. Demitro (Dick) Wasyl Michayluk
Demitro Wasyl "Dick" Michayluk (December 23, 1911 – January 2, 1990) was an educator and political figure in Saskatchewan. He represented Redberry from 1960 to 1975 in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan as a Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) and then New Democratic Party (NDP) member. He was born in Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan, the son of Wasyl Michayluk and Dora Boytzun, both immigrants from western Ukraine, and grew up on the nearby family farm. Michayluk was educated in Krydor and at the Moose Jaw Normal School. He taught school for 37 years, mainly in the Blaine Lake area. In 1940, Michayluk married Mary Solodiuk. He was president of the Krydor Board of Trade and also served on the council for the village of Krydor.
