Wanstead (ward)
Wanstead was an electoral ward in the London Borough of Redbridge from 1965 to 2018. The ward was first used in the 1964 elections and last used for the 2014 elections. It returned three councillors to Redbridge London Borough Council. It was subject to boundary revisions on 1978 and 2002. Redbridge London Borough Council, also known as Redbridge Council, is the local authority for the London Borough of Redbridge in Greater London, England. It is a London borough council, one of 32 in London. The council has been under Labour Party (UK), Labour majority control since 2014. The 1964 Redbridge Council election took place on 7 May 1964 to elect members of Redbridge London Borough Council in London, England. Ashley Gunstock (born ) is a British Green Party politician and actor. He unsuccessfully ran against Caroline Lucas to become the first leader of the Green Party in 2008 and was a candidate in the 2021 Green Party of England and Wales leadership election. The London Borough of Redbridge is a London boroughs, London borough established in 1965. The borough shares boundaries with the Epping Forest District and the ceremonial county of Essex to the north, with the London Borough of Waltham Forest to the west, the London Borough of Havering to the east, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham in the south east, and the London Borough of Newham to the south west. The principal settlements in the borough are Ilford, Wanstead and Woodford, London, Woodford. Etymology The name comes from a bridge over the River Roding which was demolished in 1921. The bridge was made of red brick, unlike other bridges in the area made of white stone.
