Walter Melville French (January 1874 – September 13, 1930) was an American attorney who served as a Washington State Supreme Court Justice from 1927 to 1930. Biography Walter French was born in Branch, Michigan, to Ezekial Inman French, a produce dealer, and Martha Mattie Mitchell. Bainbridge Island is a city and island in Kitsap County, Washington. It is located in Puget Sound. The Washington Supreme Court is the highest court in the judiciary of the U.S. state of Washington. The court is composed of a chief justice and eight associate justices. Members of the court are elected to six-year terms. Justices must retire at the end of the calendar year in which they reach the age of 75, per the Washington State Constitution.
