Wadebridge Town Football Club is a football club based in Wadebridge, Cornwall, England, in the UK. They play in the . The club is affiliated to the Cornwall County Football Association. History They were established in 1894 and joined the South Western League for its second season in 1952 and remained in membership until 2007 when they became founder members of the South West Peninsula League Division One West. During their time in the South Western League they had never won the league title, but on three occasions had finished in the runner-up spot. In their first season in the South West Peninsula league the club gained promotion to the Premier Division as champions. The club remained in the Premier Division until the end of the 2010–11 season when the finished bottom of the Premier division and were relegated back to Division One west. South West Peninsula League
The South West Peninsula League (SWPL) is a football competition in England, which was formed in 2007 from the merger of the Devon County League and the South Western League. The league is restricted to clubs based in Cornwall, Devon and West Dorset. The league consists of two Premier Divisions (East and West), which are ranked at Step 6 in the National League System. Until 2019–20, there was a single Premier Division at Step 6, and two divisions at Step 7 (Division One West and Division One East). Subject to applying, receiving the required ground grading and finishing high enough in the league table, one club from each Premier Division can be promoted to the Western League Premier Division each season. The Football Association Challenge Trophy, commonly known as the FA Trophy, is a men's football knockout cup competition run by and named after the English Football Association and competed for primarily by semi-professional teams. The competition was instigated in 1969 to cater to those non-league clubs that paid their players and were therefore not eligible to enter the FA Amateur Cup. Eligibility rules have changed over time, but from 2008 onwards the competition has been open to clubs playing in Steps 1–4 of the National League System, equivalent to tiers 5–8 of the overall English football league system. The Football Association Challenge Vase, usually referred to as the FA Vase, is an annual football competition for teams playing in Steps 5 and 6 of the English National League System (or equivalently, tier 9 or 10 of the overall English football league system). For the 2017–18 season 619 entrants were accepted, with two qualifying rounds preceding the six proper rounds, semi-finals (played over two legs) and final to be played at Wembley Stadium. Wadebridge School is a coeducational secondary school with academy status, located in the town of Wadebridge, Cornwall, England. It has 1,235 pupils. The headteacher is Tina Yardley. John Brown (footballer Born 1940)
John Brown (born 29 July 1940) is a former professional footballer who played in The Football League for Plymouth Argyle and Bristol Rovers. Brown, who was born in Wadebridge in Cornwall started playing for his home town team, Wadebridge Town in 1958. Following an unsuccessful trial for Arsenal in 1960 he joined Plymouth Argyle, but only featured nine times for their first team in his three years with the club, scoring twice. On moving to Bristol Rovers in 1963 he made more of an impact, playing as an inside forward he made 156 appearances in the League and scored 32 goals. While playing in Bristol he decided to become a part-time player so that he could also work on his father's farm near Wadebridge, leading to him earning the nickname 'Farmer Brown', but he found the work and travelling difficult and in 1968 requested that his footballing contract was terminated. Reginald Gordon "Reg" Wyatt (18 September 1932 – 16 November 2007) was an English footballer who played as a centre back.
