The club is a member of the Welsh Rugby Union and is a feeder club for the Llanelli Scarlets. History Crymych RFC is, by Welsh rugby union standards, a very young rugby club. Formed in 1984 out of the belief that the number of players leaving the locality, to join neighbouring clubs such as Cardigan, Narberth and Whitland, would be better served by a local team. The first match was played against a Whitlands XV in September 1984, and soon former residents were returning to play for the club. The club was admitted to the Welsh Rugby Union in 1995 and in 2003 a new clubhouse was opened. History Early history A Carmarthen Journal from 1871 first confirms the existence of Llandeilo RFC; when it covered an event between the club and three other teams, namely Neath, Lampeter College and Llandovery College. In their inaugural year Llandeilo RFC played on a ground known as the Bridge Field. Due to the death of one of their players, rugby in Llandeilo appeared to wane and the game lost support. But in 1875 interest was rekindled by locals, and rugby was once again played, but now on Gurrey Fach Field. Competitive Rugby was first played by Llandeilo in the 1877–78 season when the club entered the South Wales Challenge Cup competition as one of the inaugurating teams; and on 12 March 1881, Llandeilo RFC was one of the eleven clubs who met in Neath to found the Welsh Rugby Uni ...

Brynamman RFC
Brynamman ( cy, Brynaman) is a village on the south side of the Black Mountain (''Y Mynydd Du''), part of the Brecon Beacons National Park (''Parc Cenedlaethol Bannau Brycheiniog''). The village is split into Upper Brynamman and Lower Brynamman by the River Amman, which is also the boundary between the counties of Carmarthenshire and Neath Port Talbot (in the old county of Glamorganshire). Ruins of stone dwellings (possibly prehistoric), an early type of lime kiln and rectangular medieval buildings found on the mountain show that people have lived in this area for a long time. The population of Brynamman was 2,608 as of 2011; the urban area including Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen was 5,692. In the 18th century the Industrial Revolution, with iron and tin works and especially coal mining, transformed the area from a small, scattered farming community to a built-up, highly populated commercial centre. The Welsh language was at the fore and the successful participation in local and national ...

The club is famous as the location for the recording in 1975 of We All Had Doctors' Papers, a live album by Welsh comedian and singer Max Boyce, the only comedy album ever to top the UK album charts. Although rugby had been played in Pontarddulais before the club's formation, it was not until 22 September 1881 that the local inhabitants decided on creating an official rugby club. The fact that Pontarddulais have a formation date is fairly uncommon if not unique in Welsh rugby union clubs formed before World War I; as most other teams did not record the event. In the early 1890s the team played in a green strip but had changed to their present black and amber by the turn of the century.
