Crymych RFC
Crymych Rugby Football Club (Welsh: Clwb Rygbi Crymych) is a rugby union team from the village of Crymych in Pembrokeshire, Wales. The club is a member of the Welsh Rugby Union and is a feeder club for the Scarlets, Llanelli Scarlets. History Crymych RFC is, by Welsh rugby union standards, a very young rugby club. Formed in 1984 out of the belief that the number of players leaving the locality, to join neighbouring clubs such as Cardigan RFC, Cardigan, Narberth RFC, Narberth and Whitland RFC, Whitland, would be better served by a local team. The first match was played against a Whitlands XV in September 1984, and soon former residents were returning to play for the club. The club was admitted to the Welsh Rugby Union in 1995 and in 2003 a new clubhouse was opened. Crymych
Crymych () is a village of around 800 inhabitants and a Community (Wales), community (population 1,739) in the northeast of Pembrokeshire, Wales. It is situated approximately above sea level at the eastern end of the Preseli Hills, Preseli Mountains, on the old Tenby to Cardigan, Ceredigion, Cardigan toll road, turnpike road, now the A478 road, A478. The village developed around the former Crymmych Arms railway station on the now-closed Whitland and Cardigan Railway, Whitland to Cardigan Railway, nicknamed ''Cardi Bach'' (Little Cardi). Crymych, which is town twinning, twinned with Plomelin in Brittany, has an elected community council. WRU Division One West
The Welsh Rugby Union Division One West (also called the SWALEC Division One West for sponsorship reasons) is a rugby union league in Wales first implemented for the 1995/96 season. The league was formed in 2006 when the WRU divided the old Division One into two leagues, West and WRU Division One East, East Competition format and sponsorship Competition There are 12 clubs in the WRU Division One West. During the course of a season (which lasts from September to April) each club plays the others twice, once at their home ground and once at that of their opponents for a total of 22 games for each club, with a total of 132 games in each season. Scarlets
The Scarlets () are one of the four professional Welsh rugby union teams and are based in Llanelli, Wales. Their home ground is the Parc y Scarlets stadium. They play in the United Rugby Championship and in European Professional Club Rugby competitions. The club was originally named the Llanelli Scarlets but was renamed at the start of the 2008–09 rugby season. The Llanelli Scarlets were founded in 2003, as one of the five (now four) regional teams created by the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU). Cardigan RFC
Cardigan Rugby Football Club is a rugby union team from the town of Cardigan, West Wales. The club is a member of the Welsh Rugby Union and is a feeder club for the Llanelli Scarlets. History Rugby came to Cardigan through the local Free Grammar School in the 1860s when games were arranged against fellow Welsh colleges Lampeter and Llandovery. The rugby club itself was founded in 1876 making the team one of the oldest in Wales, and initially they played in an Oxford Blue strip. As with all Welsh rugby club teams, Cardigan RFC disbanded during the First World War, but the club reformed in the 1920-21 through ex-servicemen. The club disbanded again during the Second World War, but after reforming for a second time they gained membership of the Welsh Rugby Union in 1956. In 1967 a new clubhouse was built but this burned down in 1969, though rebuilt later that year. In 1992 floodlights and a 350 all-weather stand were introduced to the pitch. Whitland RFC are a Welsh rugby union club based in Whitland, West Wales. They are the presently members of the Welsh Rugby Union playing in Division One West and is a feeder club for the Llanelli Scarlets. Josh Macleod
Josh Macleod (born 27 October 1996) is a Welsh rugby union player who plays as a back row forward for the Scarlets. He has been capped for both Wales U20 and Wales. Early life Macleod was born in Monte Carlo in Monaco as his parents were living and working there at the time. His father had been a fisherman in the Outer Hebrides before moving to Monaco to skipper yachts. When Macleod was five years old, the family moved to the Pembrokeshire village of Dinas Cross, to be near his great-grandparents. Macleod went to Ysgol Bro Gwaun in Fishguard, but the town did not have any age-grade rugby programme at the time, so he had to play further afield. After playing a game for Cardigan at the age of 8, he was invited to play for Crymych RFC, where he stayed until the age of 16.
