WOL (1450 kHz) is an urban talk AM radio station in Washington, D.C. This is the flagship radio station of Radio One. It is co-owned with WKYS, WMMJ, WPRS, and WYCB and has studios located in Silver Spring, Maryland. The transmitter site is in Fort Totten in Washington. Middle of the road (also known by its acronym MOR) is a commercial radio format. Music associated with this term is strongly melodic and uses techniques of vocal harmony and light orchestral arrangements. The format was similar to soft adult contemporary. WZHF (1390 AM) is a radio station licensed to Capitol Heights, Maryland, serving the Washington, D.C. area with a regional Mexican format. It is owned by Multicultural Broadcasting and operated by RM Broadcasting. The station went on air on April 7, 1947 as WEAM, licensed to Arlington, Virginia and founded by J. Maynard Magruder.
