WMVN (100.3 Hertz#SI multiples, MHz, "96.5/100.3 The Beat") is a rhythmic top 40 FM broadcasting, FM radio station serving the Syracuse, New York, Syracuse and a part of the Utica–Rome metropolitan area, Utica–Rome market. WMVN is licensed to Sylvan Beach, New York. A separate Broadcast relay station, translator W243AB, serves the city of Westvale, New York, on the 96.5 frequency (hence the "96.5/100.3 The Beat" branding). The station's studios are located on West Kirkpatrick Street in Syracuse. History As Radio Disney WMVN signed on in June 2001 as WBGJ, a simulcast of the Radio Disney affiliated sister stations WOLF (AM), WOLF and WMBO (AM), WWLF. Sylvan Beach is a Village (New York), village in Oneida County, New York, United States; in the southeastern end of the Vienna, New York, Town of Vienna. It is twenty-two miles west of downtown Rome, New York, Rome. At the 2010 census, the population of Sylvan Beach was 897. Rhythmic adult contemporary, often abbreviated as rhythmic AC or RAC, is an adult contemporary radio format. The format focuses primarily on rhythmic contemporary, rhythmic hits aimed towards an adult audience, often resembling a mixture of the classic hits and hot adult contemporary formats in practice. The Rhythmic chart (also called Rhythmic Airplay, and previously named Rhythmic Songs, Rhythmic Top 40 and CHR/Rhythmic) is an airplay chart published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine. The chart tracks and measures the airplay of songs played on US rhythmic radio stations, whose playlist includes mostly hit-driven R&B/hip-hop, rhythmic pop, and some dance tracks.
