Press Communications Radio, LLC is a broadcasting company in the American state of New Jersey which owns six radio stations. The company is owned by Robert E. McAllan, and is a sister entity to PMCM TV, LLC. It traces its roots back to 1895, and entered radio broadcasting in 1947 by launching the first FM station entirely in the Garden State, WBAB-FM in Atlantic City, New Jersey (at the time, owned by its subsidiary, Press-Union Newspapers), simulcasting WBAB, later falling silent. Dramarama is an American, New Jersey–based alternative rock/power pop band, who later moved to Los Angeles. The band was formed in New Jersey in 1982 and disbanded in 1994. The band formally reunited in 2003 following an appearance on VH1's ''Bands Reunited''. Since 1996, an evolving lineup of the band, always fronted by singer/songwriter John Easdale, has been performing in one incarnation or another (initially billed as Easdale solo but usually joined by former Dramarama bandmates), and from then until 2003 played occasional shows in Los Angeles as well as in New Jersey. It is owned by Press Communications and is simulcast on co-owned 99.7 WBHX in Tuckerton, New Jersey. Its studios and offices are on West Bangs Avenue in Neptune City, New Jersey. WWZY is a Class A station. It has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 5,000 watts. Its transmitter tower is on Broadway at Memorial Parkway in Long Branch. History 1960–1981 WWZY first went on the air on June 1, 1960, as WRLB "Radio Long Branch". At the time, the station's owner was afforded the possibility of broadcasting with 50,000 watts, but he declined, thinking that FM radio had limited potential. Eatontown is a Borough (New Jersey), borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey, Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Adult standards (also sometimes known as the nostalgia or Big Band format) is a North American radio format heard primarily on AM or class A FM stations. Adult standards started in the 1950s and is aimed at "mature" adults, meaning mainly those people over 50 years of age, but it is mostly targeted for senior citizens. It is primarily on AM because market research reveals that only persons in that age group listen to music on AM in sizable numbers. Adult standards first became a popular format in the late 1970s and early 1980s as a way to reach mature adults who came of age before the rock era but were perhaps too mature for adult contemporary radio or too young for beautiful music or MOR stations. Social Distortion is an American punk rock band formed in 1978 in Fullerton, California. It consists of Mike Ness (vocals, guitar), Jonny Wickersham (guitar), Brent Harding (bass), David Hidalgo Jr. (drums), and David Kalish (keyboards).
