Eatontown is a Borough (New Jersey), borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey, Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 13,597, an increase of 888 (+7.0%) from the 2010 United States census, 2010 census count of 12,709, which in turn reflected a decline of 1,299 (−9.3%) from the 14,008 counted in the 2000 United States census, 2000 census. The community that is now Eatontown was originally incorporated as Eatontown Township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on April 4, 1873, from portions of Ocean Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey, Ocean Township and Shrewsbury Township, New Jersey, Shrewsbury Township. Portions of the township were taken to form West Long Branch, New Jersey, West Long Branch (April 7, 1908) and Oceanport, New Jersey, Oceanport (April 6, 1920).
