WDXT (93.9 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a classic rock format in Dansville, Livingston County, New York, United States. The station is owned by Genesee Media. The station is located such that the broadcast at times reaches as far north as Pittsford, New York, to the Pennsylvania border to the south. History In 2003, WDNY-FM moved from its original location at 129 Main Street to a new office and studio at 195 Main Street. The new location is within a historic Main Street building and still contains the original ornate tin ceiling. On October 28, 2011, WDNY-FM changed hands from Miller Media Inc. to Genesee Media Corporation. The station is well known for its local service to the Genesee Valley, Western Finger Lakes, and Southern Tier areas of New York State. Licensed to Canandaigua, New York, United States, the station is owned by Tim Stratton, through licensee 1310 FLX Radio, Inc. History The station went on the air as WCGR on October 14, 1997. On October 5, 1998, the station changed its call sign to WRSB; it operated intermittently throughout the 1990s and 2000s. The station was acquired by Genesee Media Corporation on June 8, 2013, at a price of $450,000. The station added high-quality C-QUAM AM stereo broadcasting in October 2013. WRSB (1600 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Brockport, New York, and serving the Rochester metropolitan area. The station broadcasts a Spanish tropical radio format and is owned by Brian McGlynn, through licensee Genesee Media Corporation. It is operated by William Santiago through his company Uno Communications. WRSB is powered at 300 watts day and 5 watts night both non-directionally. It was previously 1,000 watts, using a directional antenna with a three-tower array, to protect other stations on 1590 AM from interference. The transmitter is off Route 31 in Brockport. Programming is also heard on 250 watt FM translator W248BH at 97.5 MHz in Rochester. WRSB uses the FM dial position in calling itself "La Mega 97.5." WYLF (850 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Penn Yan, New York, serving the Finger Lakes region of New York and the Rochester metropolitan area. The station airs a soft adult contemporary fed by Local Radio Networks, and airs the syndicated ''Intelligence For Your Life'' with John Tesh program at night. The station also features news updates from ABC News Radio. The station is owned by Brian McGlynn's Genesee Media Corporation, through licensee WYLF Radio LLC. Transmitter By day, WYLF is powered at 1,000 watts. Because AM 850 is a clear channel frequency, the station must reduce power at night to 45 watts to avoid interfering with longer-established stations. It uses a non-directional antenna at all times.
