Virgilio Caballero Pedraza
Virgilio Dante Caballero Pedraza (24 February 1942 – 25 March 2019) was a Mexican journalist, media researcher and politician. He served as a federal deputy from 2015 to 2018 in the 63rd Congress and as a deputy to the Congress of Mexico City, in addition to having enjoyed a long career in media. Early life and career Caballero was born in Tampico, Tamaulipas, into a family of 11 children, moving to Mexico City at a young age and was a normal school teacher who also studied anthropology. However, he first fell in love with radio at the age of seven, when he participated in a kids' radio program at XEB, a station known as "La B Grande de México". As a professor of communications, he was instrumental in establishing the communications program at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Cuajimalpa campus. Tampico is a city and port in the southeastern part of the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. It is located on the north bank of the Pánuco River, about inland from the Gulf of Mexico, and directly north of the state of Veracruz. 2017 Mexico City Earthquake
The 2017 Puebla earthquake, also known as 19S, struck at 13:14 CDT (18:14 UTC) on 19 September 2017 with an estimated magnitude of 7.1 and strong shaking for about 20 seconds. Its epicenter was about south of the city of Puebla, Mexico. The earthquake caused damage in the Mexican states of Puebla and Morelos and in the Greater Mexico City area, including the collapse of more than 40 buildings. 370 people were killed by the earthquake and related building collapses, including 228 in Mexico City, and more than 6,000 were injured. The quake coincidentally occurred on the 32nd anniversary of the 1985 Mexico City earthquake, which killed around 10,000 people. The 2016 conflict in Nochixtlán refers to the acts that occurred in the community of Asunción Nochixtlán in Oaxaca, Mexico on June 19, 2016, when federal policemen tried to move protesting professors and students' parents out of blocked highways. They were protesting against the educational reforms implemented during the government of Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto.
